自我介紹時應該記住“3P原則”：Positive(自信)，Personal(個性)，Pertinent(中肯)。
1.信心(Confidence)代表着一個人在事業中的精神狀態和把握工作的熱忱以及對自己能力的正確認知。有了這樣一份信心，工作起來就有熱情有衝勁，可以勇往直前。談吐自信，就是要積極地進行自我肯定，讓面試人充分了解你的優點與潛能。所以回答要沉着、自信(Lacks confidence and poise)，而不是心神不寧(is nervous and ill at ease)。
2.突出個性，就是要把自己與衆不同的特點發揮出來，強調自己的專業與能力。自我介紹應簡潔明瞭，給面試人留下思路清晰、反應快捷、邏輯性強的印象。時間不宜太長，最好控制在五分鐘之內。不要一談起自己就口若懸河，滔滔不絕，給人留下自我標榜、以自我爲中心的印象。
3.語氣中肯，就是要實事求是，不要言過其實，誇誇其談，也不要涉及和自己無關的.事情。
爲了表達自己的誠意，某個問題發表完見解之後，可以附帶加上一句：
I’d like to hear your opinion. (我很想聽聽你的意見。)
這句話表明了你對面試人的尊敬，很容易使他(她)產生親切感。當面試人在試探你的應聘誠意時，應該及時表態：
So far as that is concerned，you must have understood my determination.
(談到這裏，你一定已經明白我的決心。)
