保護環境的英語演講稿1

we all know famous indian poet once said, “life is given to us, and we earn it by giving it.” as the saying goes, nature is given to us, and we earn it by contributing to it. however, most people nowadays just want to ask for more from the nature. in fact, they do very little contribution to the nature. therefore, the environment around us is becoming worse and worse.

do you often use batteries? then do you know it takes 50 times more energy to make them than they produce? and just one simple battery can pollute as much water as a person can drink in his whole life. the facts and figures are amazing. so would you please try to use batteries only when it is necessary? if possible, give the used ones to the recycling companies so that they will be made into new ones and won’t be able to pollute the environment any more. sometimes we become complacent when it comes to recycling, but when you speak in terms of actual facts and figures that everybody can understand, people become much clearer about the problem.

we, as school students, can also join in recycling activities to protect the environment. for example, our class set up a recycling center beside the back door, it is very useful. it is used to collect the waste paper and plastic bottles. in the past, our classmates used to throw all of these into the trashcan. at the very beginning of this collecting activity, it was not so warm-welcomed. later, more and more people were influenced by the others and joined this collecting activity. gradually, all the students in our class form a good habit to protect the environment. all of us will now put away the reusable things instead of throwing them into the trashcan.

we should always remember in our mind that protecting the environment is our duty that we can never neglect. finally would you please let me endthis speech with a little poem, “be kind to the river. be good to the trees. smile at the sunshine, and bow to the breeze. be friendly to nature, and nature will be friendly to you!”

保護環境的英語演講稿2

Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. My topic is "Give environment more care". I’d like to talk about some global environmental problems, share some of my stories and show you some data in my speech.

At the beginning, I’d like to ask you a question. Has your hometown’s environment been polluted, if it has, raise your hands please? (Thank you) Let me give you an impression of my hometown. That is a small village of Yunnan province. There are many mountains, forests and rivers. If you go there, I promise you will be amazed by its beautiful landscape. Because you just can touch the nature with your fingers and feelings. You can enjoy the blue sky, flying birds, waterfall, amazing sunset and many other sceneries. When I was a teenager, I often climbed these mountains and jumped into clear and clean river for a swim with my peers. However, after my graduation from high school, I came to Beijing for college. I found something different. Because when I raised my head, the sky’s color was not blue, but yellow. When I looked down, dirty and poisonous rivers are full of unrecyclable rubbish and giving out unpleasant smells. When I looked forward, so many people wore their mouth masks. Everyone here complains weather and environment. It seems so inharmonious between man and nature. Why?

As we know, in the past few centuries, human have made countless remarkable achievements in science and technology to explore the mysterious world better. Conquering nature with powerful tools, people have achieved material prosperity. Meanwhile, environment has been badly damaged. So a series of severe problems come along, such as species extinction, energy crisis, incurable diseases, the three main pollutions etc. All of these factors bring our beautiful planet disasters, humanity as well. Let me show you some statistics. According to the report from World Wide Fund for Nature, the species of entire world have declined by 52 % since 1970. That means about 75 kinds of precious species disappear forever from the Earth each day. In addition, scientists claimed that human now need one and a half Earth to meet the demand for natural resources. Another frightening data from the UN in 2012, there are almost 8.4 million people around the world who die of cancers caused by environmental issues every year. It is so horrible, isn’t it? Man has taken too much from nature, also paid such a heavy price for it. If we don’t try to change these situations, what will happen one or two centuries later?

But, fortunately, the majority throughout the world are aware of the significance of environmental protection. Much many individuals, environmentalists and organizations have taken actions spontaneously. Companies donate part of their profits to support some green projects. Moreover, Government has carried out many policies to conserve endangered species, support green industries and encourage people to live a green life. From a global perspective, though it is a long journey to make the Earth recovered and to live in harmony with it, I do believe that, with everyone’s efforts, we will finally get there.

Ladies and gentlemen. For ourselves, for our children, and for all human beings, by the end of my speech, I do hope you can keep the following words in mind ---- The nature’s prosperity is humanity’s prosperity. Caring environment is caring human’s future. Lives need be valued by us, nature need be respected by us, and the Earth need be loved by us, please give them more care. (Thank you very much. Ladies and gentlemen.)

we are a normal member of the big family of nature

good afternoon everybody.

honorable judges, ladies and gentlemen. today,we are gathering here to discuss a very hot issue. how to find harmony in a new age between man and nature? where modern science and technology are concerned i am only a layman i have to say. however, living in this "new age" , seeing my dear ones suffering from respiratory diseases from time to time, finding the beautiful colors of green and blue are being replaced by that of gray and pale, and realizing that our mother planet is getting more and more unhealthy; i can#39;t help trying to offer my idea and my trivial efforts to look for the answer of the question.

as the ancient greek oracle goes: know thyself. i think in answering this above-mentioned question, this precondition is also very important.

who are we? this is a question, which should be answered not only by those specialists, but also by every one of human beings.

Honorable judges, ladies and gentlemen. Today,we are gathering here to discuss a very hot issue. how to find harmony in a new age between man and nature? Where modern science and technology are concerned I am only a layman I have to say. However, living in this "new age" , seeing my dear ones suffering from respiratory diseases from time to time, finding the beautiful colors of green and blue are being replaced by that of gray and pale, and realizing that our mother planet is getting more and more unhealthy; I cant help trying to offer my idea and my trivial efforts to look for the answer of the question.

As the ancient Greek oracle goes: know thyself. I think in answering this above-mentioned question, this precondition is also very important.

Who are we? This is a question, which should be answered not only by those specialists, but also by every one of human beings.

Some people may proudly say: we are the masters of nature. It is true that the idea of "man can conquer nature" has dominated peoples mind for years, and it is true, man has kept acting like a master and doing whatever things he wants for thousands of years. However, as the consequence of this kind of "leadership" , now the "master" seems to be confronted with problems that are far beyond his control. Facts are really very ample. The

green house effect leaves islands and cities along the coast, such as this oriental pearl-Shanghai, in danger of the disaster of being drowned; the holes of the ozone layer make the earth less suitable to live for some creatures including human beings; the phenomena of EL Nino and La Nina leave the land with serious flood and drought, and the diseases, caused by pollution, are increasing at an incredible speed... Seeing all these facts, can we still ignore the counterattack of nature? We are not the masters of nature. Facing all the disasters made by ourselves, we, mankind as a whole should realize that we are just a normal member of the big family of nature. Any mistreatment towards nature will meet only with the revenge from her.

By saying so, I do not mean we should give a sudden stop to any development. Because that will result in a threat to the existence of human society. I mean we should treat nature equally, leaving the chance of existence and development to nature as we are obtaining the same thing, and thus we will get the situation of win-win.

I am very pleased to find that now more and more people, from every corner of the planet, have come to realize that harmony with nature is the only way to universal and continuous progress and prosperity. And I think that is why we come here from all over the country to discuss this topic today.

I want to end my speech by quoting from Mr. Nixon. "Our destiny offers, not the cup of despair, but the chalice of opportunity." The future is not ours to see of course. However, by seizing firmly the opportunities, by knowing clearly about ourselves, we, human beings, can doubtlessly achieve the real harmony with nature!

Thank you.
