教材分析
本節課新標準英語四年級第五模組第一單元，這節課的主要內容是形容詞比較級的初步瞭解和應用。本節課透過Ms Smart 在課堂上對學生的身高，年齡，力氣的對比，引入了比較級。透過學習讓學生能夠對具體事物的大小、長短、高矮等特徵進行比較。在實際生活中能夠正確使用：…is older/younger/shorter/taller/stronger than … 這樣的句型進行交流。
學情分析
四年級學生已有一定的單詞基礎，掌握瞭如：tallshortbig smallfatthin等形容詞。本節課是在這個基礎上，繼續學習一些形容詞並學習形容詞的比較級和比較級句型。因此，我把知識易化與大量情景相結合，注重訓練學生運用知識進行口語訓練，來突破難點，實現目標。
教學目標
1、知識目標：
（1）學習單詞oldyoungstrongthan
（2）初步認識比較級taller shorterolderyoungerstronger
（3）學會用比較級句型……erthan……來對周圍事物進行描述。
2.能力目標：
（1）培養學生運用所學詞彙進行情景交際的能力。
（2）培養學生運用比較句型描述周圍事物的能力。
3.能力目標：
（1）使學生體會英語學習的樂趣。
（2）激發學生的積極情感，培養學生的自信心。
教學重點和難點
1. 掌握新單詞，及形容詞的比較級。
2. 掌握Amy’stallerthanLingling.等比較級句型的`構成。
教學過程
一．熱身複習
1. greetings: singanEnglishsong
2. 複習表示物體特徵的單詞：tallshort big small fat thin（教師表演，讓學生猜出形容詞。然後全班邊說單詞邊表演。）
二．比較句型和單詞的學習
1理解taller shorter並學習單詞“than”
Show the photosabout Wyomingand PanChangjiang.提問：who are they ？學生回答後，進行身高比較 。引出“taller”和“shorter”和“than”的學習。
Answerthe questions:who is taller？ Who is shorter?
:tallershorter make sentences。（讓學生在小組裏將各自的身高及一些物品如：鉛筆、尺子等的長短進行比較，然後用taller、shorter描述比較的結果。）
3.學習 old__older young__younger
先讓學生猜出我的年齡，激發學生的興趣。再提問某學生：How old are you? 由師生年齡對比，學生自覺想到用older younger來描述。引出……older than …….……younger than …….
Play a game：ask“Who is older than me? Who is younger than me?” Please stand up！then say :I older／younger than you.如果出錯，讓該生表演一個節目。（這個遊戲起到既訓練了比較句型，又提高了學生注意力，而且活躍了課堂氣氛的作用。）

4..學習:strong stronger
出示圖片來理解學習單詞“strong”。提問：Liming and Zhan Hong，Who is stronger？

三. chant(透過兒歌的形式，鞏固學生對形容詞比較級的記憶。)
Tall、tall、taller. Short、short、shorter.
Old、old、older. young、young、younger.
strong、strong、stronger.
四.課文學習。
①． Listen to the test. Then answer the questions.
A. Amy and Ling ling, who is taller?
B. Is Sam stronger than ling ling?
②. Listen to the test again. and circle the new words.讓學生注意新單詞的讀法。然後齊讀、分組讀、開火車等形式來鞏固單詞的讀法。
③. Read after the tape together。
④. 在小組內分角色朗讀課文，然後請一到兩組上講臺表演並朗讀。（目的是訓練學生的膽量，強化課文內容的記憶，體現英語的交際功能。）
五.鞏固新知:
A. 老師出示圖片，讓學生用比較句型描述。
B. 同桌將各自的特徵及物品比一比，用比較句型說一說。
六.齊讀課文。
七.課堂知識小結:讓學生說出其它形容詞比較級（如：bigger、smaller thinner、fatter 等），然後讓學生說說本節課你學到了什麼？一起總結形容詞比較級的構成和比較級句型的構成。
